Only months old, yet Nelson Manor has not only achieved the national Investors in People standard, it has gone straight to the Bronze award!
70-bed Nelson Manor has a 31-strong staff team with a variety of specialisms.
The Investors in People inspectors said: “The facility is bright, welcoming and homely, with tasteful décor and furnishings and bespoke murals painted on walls to give residents focal points of interest.”
The report added: “The culture and ethos of Nelson Manor Care Home is totally in keeping with the Investors in People approach. People are in tune with the values and vision, “we treat residents as we would want our relatives to be treated.”
The report went on to say : “A strong team spirit and absolute commitment to providing quality care, drive people to often go above and beyond their job roles, to ensure residents receive the very best care.”
Nelson Manor Care Home Manager Janine Kelly said: “We were all delighted to reach the Investors in People standard so quickly, but to go straight to the Bronze Award was the icing on the cake.
“It’s testimony to the way we have all gelled as a team, and set ourselves personal and team goals to ensure we provide our residents not just with the care they need, but also the care they deserve.”
The Investors in People Award is a business improvement tool administered by UK Commission for Employment and Skills and supported by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). It seeks to maximise corporate competiveness and individual opportunities for employees. It realises the potential of staff to make a tangible contribution to business growth.
