Our Qualified Nurses support the entire staff complement in providing holistic care and support to enable you to lead as full and fulfilling a life as possible.
Care Assistants carry out many of the tasks relating to your care. They are there to help and support you with any of the challenges of daily life that you may find hard to manage on your own. Our care assistants are trained to be understanding and sensitive to your emotional and physical needs. A specific care assistant will be appointed as your Key Worker so that you always have one person with whom you are more familiar and comfortable.
Our Domestic Housekeeping and Laundry Staff work hard to maintain a clean and fresh environment for you to enjoy. A full laundering service, with the exception of dry-cleaning, is provided in our home.
Because mealtimes are such an important part of the service we provide, our Head Chef and Kitchen Staff are skilled and trained in the safe and hygienic preparation of nutritional and appetising meals.
Although each member of staff has a role within the home, the emphasis is very much on teamwork. We confirm that all members of staff are encouraged to continue with Life Long Learning and to undertake such training to ensure they are competent to meet the needs of our service users.
We actively support and encourage all of our care staff to achieve NVQ Level 2 in Care and some staff will also go on to NVQ Level 3. In addition all staff who work with our service users with dementia will receive specific training in this area.
The staff involved in the delivery of end of life care will all receive training using the Macmillan palliative care support to ensure they have the skills appropriate to support service users, their relatives and each other. All staff attend training in mandatory subjects i.e. Manual Handling, Health & Safety, Fire Awareness, Food Hygiene and COSHH.
